Disney in December

This year for Christmas, my parents surprised Alex, the girls, and I with a trip to Disney World when we went down to visit them in Florida. I couldn't have asked for a better gift! It was perfect. Adaleigh had a blast and Aubriella did so well in the stroller all day. Adaleigh is now 4 and I thought we were going to wait until she was at least 6 to take her, but I'm so happy we went now. She enjoyed the shows, the rides, and meeting the characters. She now looooves Minnie Mouse.

I begged Adaleigh to get in this pic (above), but she was too busy looking around.

It's funny. She liked Minnie before, but it's a whole different ball game now that she has met Minnie in person. My parents bought her a little Minnie stuffed animal before we went to Disney and Adaleigh brought her into the park and carried her all around. She brought her on the rides, held her during lunch, and even brought her to meet Minnie Mouse herself.

Adaleigh's favorite part of the day was meeting all the characters. She met and saw lots of them, but we got the cutest pictures with Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, and of course, Minnie and Mickey.

Alex and I got to sneak away for a little bit while my parents watched the girls and we rode Space Mountain. Alex has never been on it and we joked a lot because when he was 4 he went through the line, but chickened out at the last second. This was his 2nd time ever at Disney, so he was finally able to conquer his childhood fear! Lol.

I think Adaleigh's favorite ride was the Dumbo ride in FantasyLand. Or maybe it was just the fact that she got to have "daddy and me" time. :)

She also had some awesome "daddy and me" time on the walk back to the monorail and the parking lot. She was so excited that we bought her this adorable Minnie Mouse suitcase and my dad (her Papa) bought her a Minnie Mouse balloon. She was attached to those things for days!

We all had so much fun. We will definitely be headed back to Disney World in the future. Hopefully sooner rather than later!

Thankful for Thanksgiving!

This Thanksgiving, my family had much to be thankful for. Just to name a few... I am thankful for us living in the same city again and being under one roof. I am thankful for Alex and I having jobs that we both enjoy and with schedules that we can handle while having two kids. I am thankful for having a wonderful pregnancy, labor and delivery of my precious Aubriella in June. I am thankful for Adaleigh's preschool and the fact that she absolutely loves her teachers and classmates and loves going 5 days a week (so much better than forcing her into daycare last year!). I am thankful for all of our extended family too! We enjoyed two Thanksgiving dinners again this year and we loved it. We spent lunch time with Alex's parents, grandma, and uncle, then we headed to Atlanta to have dinner with my parents and  one of my sisters (missed you Tara!).

After dinner in Atlanta, we went to the Macy's Great Christmas Tree Lighting at Lenox Square Mall. This was our second year going, so we may have just started a new tradition! Yay! It was fun. The weather was chilly, but tolerable. They had special guests like Scotty McCreery, Mary Mary, and more and ended the show with the lighting of the huge tree and tons of awesome fireworks!

Fireworks!

Black Friday was a crazy day for me. I didn't sleep at all! I worked 3am-9am, then went home to find my street was blocked off with police tape with my house and whole frontyard included. I wasn't able to get to my house, so I parked down the street, went through people's backyards and hopped our fence. It was crazy. Turns out there was a shooting at my neighbor's. No one was hurt, but we're done with this neighborhood. Our house is on the market and we are officially keeping it up for sale until someone buys it. I want to get in a good school zone anyway, since Adaleigh will be starting kindergarten in a year and a half. After all that drama, my parents and sister came over for the evening. We got our Christmas tree, most of our decorations up around the house and had dinner together. It definitely calmed my worries after that hectic morning.

We found our tree!

It has been a fun holiday season thus far. I can not wait for Christmas and seeing all of our family. Next weekend we head to Florida to visit with some of my family and friends. :)

Adaleigh's Berry Fun 4th Birthday Party!

Adaleigh has loved Strawberry Shortcake for well over a year now. For a time, she would even introduce herself as "Adaleigh Rose Conner Strawberry Shortcake". She wanted everything Strawberry... and lately her dreams have come true. You all saw her as Strawberry for Halloween, but here comes the birthday fun... yesterday we celebrated her 4th birthday at her Grandma's house, Strawberry Shortcake style. Everything was Strawberry and majority of her gifts were Strawberry, too.

She loved the Twinkle Toes Sketcher shoes I bought her. She's been wanting them for months and I finally gave in and spent the money on them. Well spent, I'd say, because she was sooo excited...

We were all shocked that none of the gifts were duplicates either! The party was a total success. Caroleanne planned lots of fun games for the kids including "Pin the Strawberry", "Fishing", and a Pinata! As you can see, not only did Adaleigh have fun, but so did the 4 classmates and 2 cousins that attended...

The adults enjoyed the fun and food as well. Yum...

I cannot believe it has been 4 years since I fell in love with my baby girl, Adaleigh Rose on November 21, 2007 at 7:24pm. She weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce and measured 20 inches long that day. Today she weighs 45 pounds and is 43.5 inches tall!

I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

Well, hello again blog world. I'm back. I've decided to start blogging again although I'm not exactly sure when I'll find the time to do it, but I'm going to try my best. I want my family members to have an easy access to updates on the girls, especially those of you who aren't really into facebook. So here goes.

I can't believe Adaleigh is turning 4 in a 11 days! It seems like just yesterday I was starting her baby blog, and now there's a new baby in the house, Aubriella, who's already 4 and a half months old!! Kids grow so fast. It reminds of that Kenny Chesney song, "Don't Blink. You just might miss your babies growing like mine did." I seriously feel like I might miss so much in the blink of an eye, and especially now that I'm working again. Blogging is hopefully going to help me capture the special moments again.

I'm so thankful that I was able to go back to Starbucks part-time though. I really loved working there a couple years ago. I love it even more now because everyone I work with is awesome, including the new store manager.

In most recent news, we had a fun Halloween a couple weeks ago. I'm kinda glad that Alex and I have come to terms with Halloween as being a holiday. Originally, we didn't want anything to do with it when we had kids because all the evil that revolves around it, but I think we realized that we can still enjoy it and have fun with it while keeping it centered around good, clean, family fun. So we all participated this year...

I dressed up like an 80s girl, kinda Cyndi Lauper style. Alex was Alan from The Hangover (best costume ever). Adaleigh was Strawberry Shortcake. And little Aubriella was a Cow. :)

We also had a fun time at a couple pumpkin patches this year. We tried out a new one that's actually closer to our house, and Adaleigh really loved the hay ride. She was happy that her Auntie Tiffany was able to come with us, too!

Next year, we're going to do the corn maze with her. Can't wait!

Well, I'm excited to start blogging again and updating you all on our growing family. I hope you all check back soon for another update.

Love,
Brittany
