Spring Breaking It // part 3

Before we left Florida, I promised Adaleigh a trip to the beach! We've been down to visit my family many many times without going 10 mins up the road to the beach. I know, that's crazy. So this time... the beach was a must! We went to Honeymoon Island one evening. Just my mom, the girls, and I. It was such a beautiful day out. The girls had so much fun!

Since we had beach time with my mom, we decided to have an outing with just my dad the next day while my mom was at work. So the girls, my dad, and I decided to take off to Tarpon Springs to visit the Sponge Docks. We ate lunch at one of the Greek restaurant's... I had a Gyro of course. Then we walked around, bought a sponge, and went for ice cream. Fun times.

I'd say, Adaleigh had a pretty awesome first officical "Spring Break" from school. :)

Spring Breaking It // part 2

We went to one of Adaleigh's favorite places when she hangs out with her Nana and Papa... Chuck E. Cheese's. We ate pizza, played pretty much every game in the place (including my personal favorites... Guitar Hero and Deal or No Deal), and even met Chuck E. himself.

Since I didn't get any pictures of the girls in their blue flower Easter dresses that Alex's wonderful grandparents sent us, my mom and I decided to take the girls down the street to the water to watch the sunset and see if I could snap a couple good pics of them. I did a lot of snapping, but they did a lot of running, so it was hard to catch them in the right lighting. It was beautiful to watch the sunset over the water and we even spotted a dolphin!

Stay tuned for beach fun in the next post...

Spring Breaking It // part 1

So I'm definitely overdue for an update. I always think about my blog, but never seem to have the time or the motivation to sit down and type out a post, until now...

This week is Adaleigh's first official "Spring Break" since she's in school, so I decided to take the girls to spend 5 days with my parents in Florida. The fun was unending!

Let me just point out that I grabbed Adaleigh's favorite Lalaloopsy doll for about $10 from an online yardsale and this doll sells for $200 on ebay and amazon. Amazing deal. She would've been happy with just the doll, but knowing my family and all... we (Easter Bunny included) had to spoil the girls, Dollar Store style. Adaleigh also made some pretty artwork, notes, and directions for the Easter Bunny.

We got to spend some time with my relatives at my Uncle's church for Easter Sunday (love this tradition... sometimes it doesn't feel like a holiday unless I go to my Uncle's church). My mom accidentally matched girls perfectly, so I had to snap some pics at church!

Then we went to my Aunt's house for lunch. Easter was a bittersweet day though since it was the first Easter without my cousin Bethany. She is in so many of my Easter memories considering we spent at least 20 Easter Sundays together. I love her and miss her so much. I think that was one of the reasons why I wanted to be Florida this year... because I wanted to be close to everyone to remember Bethany and honor her because she loved holidays as much as me and loved spending time with our family. It was also good to have another Easter with grandma. She has alzheimer's, so it is always good to be able to have her here another year. Easter is also when we celebrate my grandma's birthday every year. Here's a video from 4 years ago...

The girls had there own little egg hunt at my Aunt's house. That was lots of fun... they are both avid egg hunters. They didn't want the fun to end so they kept hiding and finding the eggs over and over again.

Easter was a success for the girls. It's always so heartwarming for me to be at home in Florida for holidays and enjoy a little bit of tradition with my relatives even when traditions are changing, people are growing and moving, and we recently lost our dearest Bethany. Family is the most important thing and sharing moments with them is one of the greatest gifts.

Silly string and bubbles were a big part of the girls week... I'm pretty sure they played with them every day and we even had to take a special trip to the Dollar Store to buy some more.

Stay tuned for more...
